PLM Administrator

Summary:

Boston Dynamics is looking for an organized and resourceful individual to create and manage its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.  The PLM Administrator will have the opportunity to create an efficient and effective system based on best practices gained during their career.  The Administrator will manage the PLM environment, provide daily support to the user base and run the change management system. The ideal candidate will have broad experience, will be organized and self-directed to drive day-to-day operations.

As Boston Dynamic’s PLM Administrator you will have these responsibilities:

PLM System Creation

  • Setup Arena PLM system with support from Arena implementation team (configuring categories, attributes, item numbering, workflows, access policies, etc)
  • Design workflows between internal MCAD, ECAD, and software release systems that manage part numbers and creates sensible product BOM’s and configurations
  • Design efficient engineering change management system to approve, communicate and execute product changes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create a flexible system to fit the culture of the company
  • Document the new workflows and business processes.  Provide training.

PLM Administration

  • Manage the day-to-day functional requirements of the PLM system including process enforcement and administration support (with assistance from IT)
  • Create product BOM’s, part numbers, configurations and SKU’s with engineering, program management, and manufacturing teams
  • Continually evaluate business practices and suggest improvements

Change Management

  • Facilitate engineering and manufacturing changes through the organization quickly and efficiently
  • Chair Change Control Board meetings
  • Review documents and ensure correctness and organization of records
  • Communicate approved changes to internal groups and external suppliers

Required experience

  • BS degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of Arena PLM or similar (Agile, etc.)
  • Must have experience using change management and document control systems.  Experience with more than one system during your career is preferred.
  • Must be hands-on, motivated and willing to help in all areas

Additional desired experience

  • Experience deploying a new PLM system within an organization
  • SolidWorks PDM (or similar) vault management experience
  • Experience with Altium Designer (ECAD) integration into PLM
  • Experience with additional ERP related functions would be a bonus
