Product Manager- Logistics

Summary

Boston Dynamics has an opening for a Product Manager.  The position provides an opportunity to help lead our evolution from robot prototype developer to leading robot producer.  The selected candidate will help us develop, deliver, and maintain market-driven products that delight our customers, impress the public and drive sales and growth.    

Key Qualifications

  • Experience managing the introduction and marketing of novel products, 5+ years
  • Technical depth to understand and communicate the capabilities and limitations of state-of-the-art robots (you probably have an engineering degree or 5+ years of experience in a technical industry)
  • Curiosity and acumen to learn about new technologies & develop markets and applications that leverage them.  Specific experience with logistics, construction, and security markets is a plus.
  • Confidence to take risks, negotiate deals, manage customer expectations, and contribute to a disciplined engineering development process
  • Ability to provide leadership without a direct reporting structure
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations

Responsibilities

  • Robot evangelist.  Our robots have broad capabilities, but are not yet targeted at specific applications.  Your job is to find the right fit between technical capability, market opportunity, and value to customers.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to customers or internal teams describing plans and opportunities
  • Define user requirements for robots, payloads, and upgrades and balance them against engineering risks and resources
  • Create the product road-map with recommended features and enhancements. Prioritize market driven requirements to meet market needs, ROI, Sales and growth objectives.
  • Conduct Market Analysis to identify and quantify market needs and evaluate competitor offerings
  • Collaborate with an external sales team
