Public Relations and Marketing Manager

Boston Dynamics is seeking a public relations and marketing manager to help communicate its cutting edge technology to the world.

Summary:

This position will be responsible for the media and communication efforts surrounding Boston Dynamics' efforts to establish its brand and bring its robot products to market. The position requires the ability to combine strategic and tactical planning with the implementation of communication and marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will coordinate closely with engineering, sales and marketing, and management to ensure the capabilities of Boston Dynamics' products are clearly understood by potential end customers and the public at large.

The ideal candidate will have a marketing and communication background including media relations, social media campaigns, messaging and crisis communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning and implementing communication campaigns surrounding robotic products
  • Working with engineering teams to ensure accurate representation of robot capabilities in external communications efforts
  • Collaborating with sales and business development team to ensure targeted customers are aware of the benefits of Boston Dynamics' robots
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with media outlets and other external stakeholders
  • Analyzing media coverage and compiling coverage reports
  • Managing requests for information from media
  • Coordinating external speaking engagements and public-facing demo opportunities
  • Participating in standards organizations to set the path for future robotics safety standards
  • Managing brand reputation through communication strategy and crisis management


Qualifications:
 

  • Ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences about highly technical topics
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Experience developing relationships with media
  • A demonstrable passion for new technology
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience, with a mix of in-house and PR agency experience (technology background preferred)
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Based in Waltham, MA with some travel required
