Vice President of People Operations

Boston Dynamics has built an amazing team of engineers, scientists, technicians and business professionals devoted to creating the most advanced dynamic robots in the world.  We are looking for someone to help us scale this team. As a member of the Boston Dynamics executive team, the VP People Operations will develop and scale the company’s people functions, systems, and processes to enable faster growth to support the business strategy.  We are looking for someone with an innovative and inclusive approach. A successful candidate will enjoy building relationships with and becoming a trusted advisor to a diverse set of stakeholders within the organization. They will help shape the company through strong project management and change management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to people operations group by overseeing Organization Development and Employee Experience (HR).
  • Evolve policies and programs relating to employee relations, affirmative action, diversity, sexual harassment, employee complaints, and career development.
  • Seek out ways to solve problems that will make processes move faster, remove friction from transactions, and develop tools and processes to collect meaningful data to enable informed improvements as the company scales
  • Leverage market compensation data and outside consultants to provide analysis and recommendations on compensation planning including new hires, acquisition activities, and new business unit integration.
  • Foster the company’s culture of innovation and preserve our heritage while leading necessary change as the company evolves.
  • Be a trusted advisor to our executive team and other principal members of the leadership team

 

Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of business and HR leadership within organizations specializing in professional services, research, or high-technology industry is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate has had experience at a high-growth organization with broad experience across human resource disciplines including talent acquisition and development, performance management, change management, HRIS, and compensation and benefits.
  • A Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree and/or professional certification required.
  • Demonstrated desire to seek understanding of others’ perspectives and to build relationships through collaboration; proven record of being open, responsive and approachable.
